Comic Con has announced the sale date for badge purchases. Saturday November 18, 2023 at 9 am pst will be the day and time. The waiting room will open up at 8 am pst and once the sale opens people will be placed in to the dreaded “waiting room”. Return registration just happened so this is the sale for all those who were unable to obtain badges then. Comic Con 2024 will happen July 24 through July 28th 2024 in San Diego and the San Diego Convention Center.

From the Comic Con website here is some information that will help understand the process:

Comic-Con 2024 Open Registration is open to the general public! Anyone with a valid and confirmed Member ID can participate.

• To participate in Open Registration, please make sure ahead of time that you can log in to your Member ID account, or create your Member IDtoday if you don’t have one!

Anyone you wish to purchase badges for must also meet the same eligibility requirements.

The SAG Aftra strike did impact Comic Con 2023 in that actors and members of the union were not allowed to promote any of their shows during the convention. They were allowed to attend as fans. Many fans were sad of course that some of their favorite tv shows were unable to hold panels during the convention. Hall H especially was greatly impacted. All understandable of course. There were many many adventures to be had by attendees!! Off site activations were especially fun. FX and Adult Swim had interactive activities where fans could play games and win prizes. The Pop Tart tasting was especially fun and delicious!

There were fewer press rooms due to the strike but some still went on. William Shatner’s “Call Me Bill” held a press room (but Mr. Shatner did not attend). One of their panelists Katya Echazarretta, was an astronaut who used to volunteer at Comic Con! Katya was especially excited to attend the convention as a guest. Not all eligible attendees will be able to purchase a badge during Open Registration. There are more eligible attendees than badges available. You can increase your chances of obtaining a badge by reading the following instructions carefully and having your personal information ready on the day of the sale.
