Have you missed the season 2 premiere on Thursday? Don’t worry, there are several ways you can catch up. (If you’re in the US, that is.)

Now, we already need to look at those pesky Nielsen ratings. Yes, they take the fun out of things a little bit, but unfortunately they also determine whether we’ll get a third season or not.

The Dominion premiere came in at 0.3 in the Demo (advertising demographic), and a total of 1.06. While that’s not especially bad, that’s also not as good as it could, or maybe should be. (In comparison, the season 1 total ratings averaged around 1.5.) It’s hard to predict whether ratings will climb or fall for future episodes, but oftentimes the premiere gets better ratings than the rest of the season.

So what can we do to help increase ratings? First of all, get the word out. It’s as simple as telling people to watch the show. In person, on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, or any other places you hang out. We need the numbers.

It’s not just the numbers on the day of the original broadcast that count. There’s something called C3 ratings, where they also look at viewings of DVR recordings in the three days after the original airing (which only count if you also watch the commercials).

Watching the full episodes on the Syfy website is taken into account as well, so do that if you can. And tell others to do it as well.

Last year, Twitter basically got us a new season. It’s just as important that we tweet the #Dominion hashtag like crazy during all of season 2. We’ll keep you entertained with fun, Dominion-related things to do and tweet on Thursdays, so stay tuned for more news on the tweetouts.

In the meantime, just enjoy the new season, the new characters, and the epic storylines. We have a feeling the surprises will just keep coming!
