Starting Oct 29 (i.e. this week), we’ll begin our weekly Dominion Rewatch. So get your DVDs, Blu-rays and DVRs ready to relive all 21 episodes of the show.

We will gather every Thursday at 10/9c and “live” tweet about the show, hoping to not just have fun, but also raise awareness for Netflix to possibly pick up Dominion. So when you tweet with us, don’t forget to (only!) use the hashtags #Dominion and #Netflix, and send your tweets directly to @Netflix as well.

What we’ll need now is not just a little bit of luck and a whole lot of determination, but also stamina. Pickup decisions aren’t made in two weeks. It may take months for a network to announce picking up a cancelled show. We may need to make a little more noise before then, so let’s go do it.

If you’d like to keep up with the rewatch, we have an Upcoming Events widget in our sidebar now that lists the events we have planned. Alternatively, you can also just go to our Google Calendar and track our activities there.

Help Dominion take flight on Netflix

Now that Syfy has cancelled Dominion, we want to get the show on Netflix’s radar to give it a chance to live on.

From October 18 to 24 (Sun through Sat), we will be having daily half hour-long tweetouts – every day at 10 AM and 10 PM EDT.

Please tweet as much as you can directly to @Netflix, using only the two hashtags #Dominion and #Netflix. (Any tweets using more than three hashtags are considered spam by Twitter.)

Tell Netflix why they should pick up Dominion (but try to keep the message positive). Make it clear to them that we want a new season of Dominion produced by Netflix (don’t just ask for them to carry Dominion — we don’t want them to think we mean Seasons 1 and 2 only). Tweet images of wings to keep the angels in flight. Post memes or other graphics if you like. Anything goes, as long as it’s not inappropriate.

It will help if you emphasize that you will watch Netflix, either more than you already do, or for the first time if you don’t currently. We will support them if they support us!

If you like, you’re encouraged to change your Twitter icon to something Dominion-related for the tweetouts or the entire week. (Preferably this would have the word “Dominion” prominently displayed on the icon because people outside the fandom might not recognize pictures from the show.)

Let’s spread our wings and light the spark for Netflix to help us out!

The worldwide fandom of Dominion is shocked and saddened by Syfy Channel’s business decision to cancel the series after just two seasons.

At this difficult moment our first priority remains the same: demonstrating our unwavering support for and appreciation of the amazingly talented creative team, cast, and crew of Dominion, and our fellow Angels.

The admins of the Syfy Dominion’s Angels Facebook group and Dominionfans.com are united in their desire to seeing the story continue, either on another channel or via some other media. We also ask fans to continue to support Vaun Wilmott, the cast and crew in all their future endeavors.

As we work together to discuss possible plans of action, we ask that you keep the message positive and looking toward the future. Please continue to tweet out your love and support to all members of the Dominion family using ‪#‎Dominion‬. You can also sign this online petition to support the show getting picked up by Netflix.

Dominion cancelled after season 2

Sadly, Syfy announced yesterday that they have decided to cancel Dominion after its second season.

According to news reports online, the cancellation is due to the 40% drop in ratings compared to last season. In a statement, Syfy was very appreciative of the cast and crew:

Led by Vaun Wilmott, the talented cast, producers, writers and crew of ‘Dominion’ have done a tremendous job bringing this ambitious, cinematic series to the screen over the past two seasons. We thank them, as well as our producing partners Universal Cable Productions, Bold Films and Film Afrika.

While this is obviously very upsetting for the fans and avid followers of the show, we would once again like to ask everyone not to start flaming the network or anyone involved in the show.

As with most renewal/cancellation decisions, it was likely based on numbers, facts and revenue, and was not an act to anger or punish the fans. We all love this show dearly and will mourn its too sudden ending, but yelling at Syfy accomplishes nothing. Let’s all try to channel our energy into something positive.

Let’s all write to Syfy, but be polite about it

This is just a friendly reminder that it’s fine, and even encouraged, to contact Syfy and ask them to renew Dominion, but it should always be done with respect and politeness.

Voicing your frustration towards the network or berating them for decisions made in the past or about to be made in the future is not helpful, possibly even counterproductive.

The network needs to know that Dominion has a strong, loyal fanbase that is passionate about the show. This is best conveyed by telling them what you love about Dominion, and why you would like to see it renewed.

Thus, we’d like to ask all the fans to please focus on positivity rather than the things that upset you. Be respectful. Don’t be rude.

Dominion: Revelations has chapter XIII (the last one) now activated. It’s about Helena, the City of Women.
Vaun Wilmott did a Periscope chat last Thursday before the finale. You can watch the video on YouTube to catch up with all the questions and answers.
There’s new print interviews with Vaun on TV Insider and TV Line where he talks about the season finale and what might be in store for a possible season three. Metro has a new interview with Anthony Head. Of if you like the show’s music, read the one with composer Bill Brown.

Show and Tell Syfy your LOVE for Dominion

We’ll be live tweeting again on Thursday for episode 2×13, together with the cast and crew.

On Oct 01, starting at 9/8c, start posting pictures or text tweets that represent your love for the show. Tell Syfy what makes Dominion special, explain why you’d love to see a third season. There’s no limit where creativity is concerned. Any contribution is welcome.

It’s important to use the #Dominion and/or the #RenewDominion hashtag, and remember to give a big thank you to @Syfy. Note that you should never use more than two hashtags at a time because Twitter counts tweets with three or more hashtags as spam.

It’s also important to encourage as many viewers as you can to watch live and/or within the first three days of airing (including the commercials). Ratings will count the most towards Syfy’s decision whether to cancel or renew.

Please keep watching the episode on DVR (including commercials — this is important and helps the C3 and C7 ratings!) or on the Syfy website. Why not put it on while you’re doing your chores? You can also just let the episode run in the background in a separate window or tab of your browser.

Syfy also put a behind-the-scenes video on their YouTube channel about the angel statue (geolocked). Watch the promo for 2×13 on YouTube. Cancellation Wars: Vote which show should rather be cancelled – Dominion or Defiance? (If you wanna vote pro Dominion, you should click the Defiance button, since they’re asking which show to cancel!)

And lastly, a bit of a bummer: Composer Bill Brown confirmed on Twitter that Syfy has decided there will be no Dominion season 2 soundtrack release.
