UK Dominion Fan Meetup on October 25th/26th

We only just learned of a Dominion fan meetup in London, UK that is taking place alongside MCM London Comic Con on October 25th and 26th, which will be a great chance to get know some of your fellow fans in person!

The meetup is organized and hosted by Fukiko Stuart (a.k.a. @PandaPuds), and anyone interested in joining should come to the entrance of the convention (after passing the ticket area) at 11:30am on both Saturday and Sunday.

You will have to purchase a ticket to London Comic Con in order to attend. You can buy tickets on the day at the venue (limited availability and/or long queues) or online on the MCM London Comic Con website. Day tickets will be £13 GBP (advance option) or £15 GBP (at the venue). The convention is being held at the ExCel London, Royal Victoria Dock, London, E16 1XL, United Kingdom.

There may be organized activities during the meetup (e.g. visiting London attractions as a group), but this will very much depend on attendance and interest on the day.

And for those who can’t attend in October, Fukiko is planning another standalone Dominion fan meeting in May 2015 (tentatively around May 9th/10th). This meeting will most likely also be held in London. Details will be published as we get closer to the event, but you may already want to block your calendars.

Although a DVD/Blu-ray release date has not yet been announced, you can already pre-order season 1 of Dominion on amazon.com. The set comes as either DVDs or Blu-rays. Amazon.com also offers the first season on their Instant Video portal.

Other sources where to watch the show are Syfy Now (not all episodes currently available), Hulu and iTunes.

FYI: Most of the streaming portals are not accessible to non-US viewers due to licensing reasons.

Dominion arrives in Europe

SyFySpainUKDominion keeps making the international rounds this fall, premiering in a number of European countries. It was previously announced that SyFy France will start airing the first season on October 14 this year. SyFy Spain broadcast the pilot last night, and SyFy UK has also started teasing the show to say that it will be “coming soon”, presumably still in late 2014.

It is yet unclear which other countries will start airing the show, but we’re hoping it will eventually come to those countries that have a local SyFy affiliate, like Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Russia, Turkey and parts of Asia. Stay tuned for updates as they become available.

Fantastic news for fans of the tv shows Dominion and Defiance! Both shows were renewed by SyFy according to EW:

It’s official: Syfy is renewing two summer thrillers, including a pickup for supernatural freshman drama Dominion.
Post-apocalyptic angel-war drama Dominion will return for a second season and alien-colonized Earth drama Defiance is getting a third round. Both will receive 13-episode orders from Universal Cable Productions. Kevin Murphy (Caprica) will resume his role as executive producer and showrunner of Defiance while Vaun Wilmott (Sons of Anarchy) will continue to fill the same posts for Dominion. The shows have averaged the exact same viewership on Thursday nights— 2.7 million viewers, and 1.2 million adults 18-49 (including seven days of DVR playback).
Dominion fans in particular were getting a bit nervous about the show’s return odds, so this news should come as some relief. Syfy points out that the new show had more tweets on Thursdays nights this summer than any other drama series. Both will return with new episodes in 2015. SOURCE:

Twitter Campaign plus Dominion Season One Finale Tonight

The cast will also be tweeting during the episode. How awesome is that! For many of the cast this means having to wake up super early in order to tweet with fans.  Vaun Willmott tweeted the following (YES! William Shatner will once again be helping out with the twitter campaign)
